Nature is reclaiming its lost glory

Today is First day of nationwide lock down in India due to Covid 19 pandemic . Silence has engulfed the always in hurry urban life and this silence is really turning out to be unsettling for many . Today I  could hear the chirping of many birds. From the balcony saw many small birds flying here and there in the apartment campus. The sky seemed to be clearer. There was no noise whatsoever. It was a different sight altogether - blissful amidst the silence. May be these birds were always here, may be the chirping was always there. Just that the programmed schedule of daily life never let me to pause and have a look and listen. In last few days I have heard many stories about wild life having their best time without the human presence. Have seen pictures on internet how the Venice water canals are running clear and dolphins swimming in the clear waterways. The earth is rebooting and may be Nature is reclaiming its lost glory.

In childhood grandfather told us many stories about how hundreds of people died overnight due to some known unknown reason. For them some were due to wrath of Gods, some were due to mystic specter and some were due to deceases for which medicines were not available.  Its a scary tale of how the villagers struggled to cremate so much dead bodies together. How they disposed bodies in the river . Hearing these stories a chill ran down my spine and thanked God that we will never have to face these days anymore. Science and technology will always have a way to rescue us from any such disaster. Today again a Virus has run chill down to the spine of millions. So, what has changed since the days of my Grand father?  May be the change is Reason. We know the reason today. Don't we?

I miss the village of my childhood. Back then Nature was flourishing in its full might (well, in comparison ) . Those were days without worries when we could gaze at the stars in clear sky ,when seasonal birds could remind us of changing season. Feels like, we could hold back time then. Well, change is inevitable and with time changes the way of life. But is it happening too for the nature to cope up?   Elon Musk is planning commercial flight to Mars by 2050  . Hope earth  will let us survives till then.

So,  Is it  Nature's wrath? Is it nature's way of reclaiming its supremacy? May be nature is telling us to  - slow down, introspect and understand the meaning of life. For what we are fighting for , for what we are toiling everyday ? With the ever changing goalpost of our ambitions what have we achieved actually?

Some one has said in Twitter - Once this is all over either Atheists will turn to God or the believers will become atheist.

Once this is over, hope the human race will let the nature to reboot and reclaim its lost glory.
